It usually works
I really like this meter but it does have problems. The first unit I received had a defective BNC to alligator clips attachment making it useless for me. A sign of poor quality control. The replacement has been a pleasure to use or perhaps I should say it’s usually a pleasure. It’s certainly easy to use and I’ve not had any problems measuring ethernet cables. But I’ve not been as successful with 2 wire Romex cables. It usually works although it can indicate a short when there is obviously nothing wrong with the cable. Unfortunately, I can’t get it to show anything other than a zero length on the cable I really bought it to test. I’ve successfully used a capacitance type length tester on that cable but can’t figure out why the Klein TDR meter fails. I was really expecting more.
