I’m not a mechanic…so these won’t be used for anything like that… I will be travelling by air this summer and body-piercings have been known to set off the airport security scanners.I checked measurements and function shortly after we found the package outside our door. The pointy tips that are supposed to fit into some holes on some mechanical clip thingies are somewhat curved on the exterior and the round ring portion of the captured bead rings rest nicely in that area on both sides. Tool helps widen captured bead ring opening slightly/gently so that the bead can be removed and reinserted without a lot of wrestling and the bead catapulting itself off around one’s bathroom prompting a hands and knees search to attempt to find it again. I will pack my other bigger external pliers in my checked luggage just in case I get one of “those” types of airport security personnel.
