I don’t get it. I thought these would be a bit sticky so they would help grip the surface of the thing you are turning. They are not – they are a hard-ish plastic that’s actually a bit slippery. So while it’s true that they might prevent the workpiece from being scratched, they are of no help at all in actually turning it! Since typically if you’re trying to prevent something from being scratched while turning it, it’s smooth and shiny (not to mention round), these are completely and utterly pointless.
