these could certainly be better, it's obvious Mitutoyo quality isn't even what it used to be. especially having just returned my Mitu' u-meter. the problem is where do you go next? it looks like the only thing left is B&S/Tesa but many of their offerings display no specs and their website, blows.the smallest is the worse a full .001, out. it was even worse until i figured out you need to back off the tightening screw. if you over tighten, it goes to .002, out. the next 2 up are right at .001 but don't have the issue with the tightening screw. of the 6 parallels, only the largest 3 are at well -.001 on each side. all 6 bars had lapping compound in them, that needed to be cleaned out and re-oiled. it left them all feeling gritty and resistant.if i had to do it again, i'd probably take my chances with B&S and hope for the best.
