When I use these ratchets I have to hold onto the socket so the gear mechanism will alow me to reposition the ratchet. If I don’t hold onto the socket the bolt will turn back and forth with the ratchet. Another problem is that you can’t take it apart to lubricat it so it will work better. My opinion, don’t buy them. I purchase all three drive sizes and they are all the same the mechanism is very tight and does not move as freely as it should.
