I’m unsure what to say. I use vernier calipers frequently: no battery, no dial, no nonsense. This is the best I’ve ever used. It’s hard to imagine improvement. There are many alternatives. Most are less expensive. In the long run, I think this is still the best bargain.I chose this model because leaving off the silly inch scale allows the mm scale incisions to be a little longer, easier to read. I paid half what’s being asked today, so it might be worth looking at other, currently discounted Mitutoyo models. They are all excellent. Choose carefully because you’ll be using this tool the rest of your life. Maybe add a codicil to your will to send it where it will keep on working.
